Window on Wiltshire's Heritage is a project with 22 partner organisations. Each partner brings to the project a unique aspect of Wiltshire's varied heritage.

Athelstan Museum, Malmesbury Displays include lace making, costume, rural life, coins, local industry, early cycles, an eighteenth century manual fire engine and paintings and photographs of Malmesbury Avebury World Heritage Site Office This partner is involved with the management of the World Heritage Site and the implementation of the Management Plan Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre Chippenham's museum tells the story of this historic market town Cricklade Museum The aim of Cricklade Museum is to collect, conserve, research, interpret and provide public access to objects associated with the Cricklade district thereby encouraging people to acquire knowledge of local history Kennet & Avon Canal Trust The Trust Museum tells the story of the planning, building, working, and finally restoration of the Kennet and Avon Canal Lackham Museum of Agriculture and Rural Life The Museum, taking its name from the main themes of the collection, has been established since 1946 Market Lavington Village Museum THe home of the Museum is the Old Schoolmaster's House, built in 1846, which illustrates village life and work mainly from Victorian times to the present day Mere Museum In 1969/70 the County Council invited Mere's Local History Committee to have four showcases in the new Library for the display of historical documents, photographs and artefacts that people might offer Pewsey Heritage Centre The Heritage Centre collections highlight the social, agricultural and industrial aspects of rural England over the past 150 years or so, a period which includes the rise and fall and rise again of the Kennet and Avon Canal, and the railway with its rapid links to both East and West Redcoats in the Wardrobe Military Museum Museum and archives of the Wiltshire Regiment, the Royal Berkshire Regiment, the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment and the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum Home of the Stonehenge Gallery and a designated archaeological collection of national importance Stonehenge World Heritage Site Team This partner is involved with the management of the Stonehenge area of the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site and the implementation of the WHS Management Plan (English Heritage 1998 for Avebury and 2000 for Stonehenge) Trowbridge Museum Housed in a former woollen mill, Trowbridge Museum tells the history of the towen and its people Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office Records are documents which survive from earliest recorded times to the present day in a variety of forms: letters, maps, registers, minute and account books and deeds Wiltshire Art Collections (Salisbury Library and Galleries) The Edwin Young Collection, and John Creasey Museum Wiltshire Buildings Record The organisation which collects and preserves records of the County's buildings for information and research Wiltshire County Council Archaeology Service The Archaeology Service is responsible for maintaining the County Sites and Monuments Record, and for negotiating with landowners and developers to protect archaeological sites Wiltshire County Council Conservation Service We provide a comprehensive range of services to museums and heritage organisations Wiltshire County Council Local Studies Library All printed material on the county is collected and housed in the County Local Studies Library at Trowbridge Wiltshire County Council Museum Service / Historic Photograph and Print Collection The Wiltshire County Council Museum Service does not run any museum directly, instead we provide help and assistance to those organisations in the county who do Wiltshire Heritage Museum / Wiltshire Archaeological & Natural History Society The WANHS was founded in 1853 to examine the archaeology, natural history and local history of Wiltshire Wiltshire Wildlife Trust The Trust's vision is a sustainable future for wildlife and people; a Wiltshire where everyone enjoys a satisfying quality of life, based on a fair share of the world's resources, without destroying the birthright of future generations
